Chairman
Born and raised in Idaho, attended grade school in Mack’s Inn. Professional career he was a university professor of microbiology and molecular biology of human development for 47 years. We built our current home in 1999 in Island Park where we are full time residents.
Director
Raised on a cattle ranch near Pryor, MT. Has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering which he put to good use during his 33 year career with Nuclear Reactor Test Site West of Idaho Falls. In 1995, when Joe retired, he and Diane and I moved to our home in Island Park. In 2003 I became concerned about wildfires and started hazardous fuel reduction and a defensible space around our home. Joe was one of the founding members of IPSFC and has updated the Fremont County Subdivision map, developed the Hazard Ranking of all subdivisions, and developed the Wildfire Risk Evaluation & Fuels Reduction Plan. His current personal project is the Hazardous Fuels Reduction maintenance on the pig farm (disc golf course). The 2022-2023 winter broke many trees down as well as some areas need thinning to reduce the fire hazards

Director Jon has been serving as the Prescribed Fire Specialist on the North Zone for the Caribou-Targhee National Forest for the last nine years. He has been a member of the Island Park Sustainable Fire Community since 2014 and a board member since about 2018. Before working in Idaho, Jon worked for both the Bridger-Teton National Forest and Grand Teton National Park on their wildland fire engines since 2006. Prior to 2006, Jon worked for the United States Fish and Wildlife Service in Texas, Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah, and The Nature Conservancy in Florida, all in wildland fire jobs. He graduated with a degree in Biology from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. He lives in Driggs and enjoys skiing, hiking, biking, and running with his wife and dog.

Grew up living all over the world until I was in high school, then we stayed put in California. Personally experienced with wildfires in Malibu, CA and was, also, a Fireman/Paramedic for 3 years before moving to Idaho 43 years ago. “I don’t like losing beautiful places and things to fire. Fire mitigation in all forms is very important to me.” Nursing degree, retired, but still maintains her license by working for our local clinic. I am currently the Chairman of the Fremont P&Z Commission, President of Two Top Estates HOA. Has a degree in Nursing, retired, but still maintain license working for our local clinic. I am currently the Chairman of the Fremont P&Z Commission, President of Two Top Estates HOA, and Treasurer for the Island Park Sustainable Fire Community. Associated with Targhee Women, Red Hot Mommas, Quilt Guild, biking, swimming, reading and supporting the Island Park Community in any way she can. Loy and her husband, John, have had a cabin in Island Park since 2012 and have lived here full time since 2019.
